"Hilarious, ingenious, uncanny, unmissable!"
ZACHARY WOOLFE, THE NEW YORK TIMES

LATEST EPISODE
FLOATING ISLAND

Judy is the guests on an imagined episode of the legendary BBC radio program, Desert Island Discs.

"JudyCast is a work of art as original, inimitable, and unpredictable as Judy herself. It's the one podcast I've been re-listening to for over a decade, and even in all that time it's lost none of its power to surprise and delight."
MATT BAUME, WRITER, YOUTUBE VIDEO CREATOR & PODCASTER

"JudyCast isn't just a podcast. It's a breathtaking, hilarious, and mind-bending post-modern work of art. Each episode has more allusions than T.S. Eliot dared in THE WASTE LAND and it's a lot more fun to pick apart."
JONATHAN TOLINS, PLAYWRIGHT & SCREENWRITER

"When I think that one person voices all of these living, breathing, thinking, feeling people, I admit I get a bit overwhelmed.  The situations, the nuance, the cultural references, not to mention his technological expertise are nothing short of (pardon the word) genius.  Every time I listen to JudyCast, I'm swept into an alternate reality and want to stay there.  Okay, enough blathering.  Let me shout from the rooftop: I FEEL GOOD WHEN I LISTEN TO JUDYCAST!"
GREGORY J. POLCYN, PARCAST RADIO, BARBRA BY HALSTEAD, ORIGINAL MEMBER OF THE GROUNDLINGS

"Sharp, wonderfully detailed, clever, fun, experimental, artistic, challenging. Judy's wit, sincerity and vulnerability are placed in a wacky surrealistic context that is edgy but never cruel and perhaps the Divine Garland herself would have appreciated."
CHARLES BUSCH, ACTOR, PLAYWRIGHT, DRAG LEGEND

"This podcast is as good as it gets. Love it.  Need it. Devoted."
MICHAEL JOHN LaCHIUSA, COMPOSER, LYRICIST, LIBRETTIST

"JudyCast just might be the most entertaining, ingenious podcast on the planet.  Daffy, hilarious, insightful, surreal, pointed, and surprisingly sweet, this show manages to honor the genius of the divine Frances Gumm while simultaneously (and deliciously) commenting on modern showbiz.  The imitations, of Judy and the rest of the cast, are impeccable and the technical excution is flawless.  Astoundingly, the whole thing -- every voice, every line -- is put together [bit by byte] by one man: the irreplaceable Bill Phair. Judy would have loved every minute of it."
ERIC NEHER, WRITER & CONTRIBUTING EDITOR, THE HUDSON REVIEW

"Talented mimics have been imitating Judy Garland for decades.  It's a charmingly retro, grey-whiskered cottage industry that somehow grew so big that it expanded into one of the wackier suburbs of Oz.  I devour Bill Phair's podcasts because he not only apes Garland, he damn near embodies her while hurling her into our mad, mad, mad, mad world of Beyonce, social media, Showgirls, Disney animated movies, Carol Channing, emojis, meta, and Katy Perry.  Now, it's one thing to be able to copy Garland lick-for-lick on "The Man That Got Away" and "Over the Rainbow."  But it's a whole other thing to imagine her attacking Regina Spektor's "You've Got Time" underscored by Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black."  Or else lacing into a dementedly inspired "Arabian Nights" from Disney's ALADDIN.  What Bill Phair is doing with JudyCast is cutting edge stuff -- super smart, deeply bizarre, erratic, confessional, and, in its own way, merrily transgressive."
STEPHEN REBELLO, SCREENWRITER, AUTHOR

"Bill Phair's JudyCast is a combination of My Little Margie, The Sonny and Cher Show, and Al-Jazeera, all rolled into one loosely stitched volleyball being served by Miss Judy Garland and her various playmates. Each episode is an unexpected and rollicking adventure unto itself. What will Judy and her gang do next? We used to be a Bonanza household but now our Sunday nights are devoted exclusively to JudyCast."
BUZZ STEPHENS, THE JUDY GARLAND EXPERIENCE

"It seems radio has been reborn in the form of podcasts, and no one is exploiting the form quite as brilliantly... Though campy and funny, Phair’s podcast is so much more. This is real radio theater (real bizarre, but still) and deserves the biggest possible audience."
CHAD JONES, THEATER DOGS

"Smart, subversive, silly.  It's nearly impossible to describe this podcast. It's much more than a mere impersonation of some iconic stars of stage and screen - it's an art form all on its own. Subsequent listens unravel this delightful puzzle."
BOB BULLEN, WRITER, THE HUFFINGTON POST, PODCASTER, THE SUNSET PROJECT

ABOUT

JudyCast with Frances Gumm is a surreal comedy and variety show podcast "hosted" by Judy Garland.  Judy attempts to share her views on pop culture while her co-host Roger Darling tries to interject some rationality.

Recurring panelists include Carol Channing, Bernadette Peters, Gollum (Lord of the Rings), Pia Zadora, and Lauren Bacall, with visits from guest stars such as Daniel Radcliffe, Gwen Verdon, Patti LuPone, Katharine Hepburn, and others.

The show is all the work of Bill Phair, a New Yorker with a love of theater, film, and lobster rolls (Mary's Fish Camp, please).
